What We Clean

Screens, Framing and Lanai Panels

Pool cage and lanai screens in Port St. Lucie pick up algae, mildew, pollen, dust and hard-water spotting from sprinkler overspray. Humidity and sun keep it coming, so an enclosure can look dingy without ever having been neglected.

JB Powerwash Services cleans the screen mesh and the aluminum framing with a low-pressure soft wash, and can clean the pool deck underneath as well.

  • Low-pressure application — no blown-out screen panels
  • Breaks down algae, mildew and grime on mesh and framing
  • Landscaping and pool equipment protected before the rinse
  • Pool deck cleaned separately with the method that suits it
Why Not Pressure Wash a Screen?

The Screen and the Deck Need Different Methods

Standard pressure washing is built for hard, flat surfaces like concrete. On fine mesh and thin aluminum, direct high pressure can tear a screen that is already a little brittle from UV exposure, bend framing, or force water under door tracks and around fasteners. Once a panel tears, the fix is a screen replacement, not a cleaning.

The deck is the opposite: concrete, pavers or a textured coating can usually handle the pressure the screen cannot, so that is where pressure washing comes in. The technique changes surface by surface.

Signs It’s Time

When Does a Lanai Need Cleaning?

Watch for a gray or green haze building on the screen mesh, especially low down or in shaded corners; white or cloudy spotting on the lower framing and screen where sprinklers reach directly; and aluminum that looks dull even after a quick hose rinse. Enclosures under trees or near frequently run sprinklers usually show it first. None of these mean anything is damaged — they are signs algae and mineral buildup have had time to settle in.

Questions

Pool Cage Cleaning FAQ

Is it safe to pressure wash a pool cage?

High-pressure water can tear brittle screen panels, bend thin aluminum framing and force water into door tracks and fasteners. A low-pressure soft wash lifts algae, mildew and spotting without that risk.

What does a soft wash do on pool cage screens?

A cleaning solution is applied at low pressure to break down algae, mildew and grime on the screen mesh and aluminum framing, then rinsed gently. Landscaping and pool equipment near the enclosure are protected first.

Do you clean the pool deck at the same time?

JB Powerwash Services cleans both the screen enclosure and the pool deck, using a different method for each surface: soft wash for the screens and framing, pressure washing for a concrete or paver deck.

How do I know when a lanai needs cleaning?

Common signs are a gray or green haze on the screen mesh, white or cloudy spotting on lower panels and framing where sprinklers reach, and dull aluminum that a hose rinse does not fix.
